Like a Dream…Only Real

Looking back I have no other word but amazing. I have never experienced something so magical and loving and warm and beautiful all at once. We are both blessed…blessed by our families that made the weekend possible…blessed by our friends that traveled to share the weekend with us…blessed by everyone that helped and contributed and made all the details come together.

We spent HOURS with the very talented Laurie Rush today looking through the multitude of photos she took and was given one of the best gifts of being able to look through all of our memories again. It brought me back to the overwhelming feeling of love that I experienced as I hugged each last guest goodbye on Sunday morning. I have put together a small slideshow of photos (I have to say small as she handed me 3500 photos today) to share with everyone that has been bugging me. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we do!

XOXO

Now Featuring…Us!

We were honored when San Antonio Wedding Guide thought our wedding was worth covering. Lindsay Holliday will be part of the guest list and will be covering our intimate affair for the spring issue. The first teaser went up on their website today so that the readers (who weren’t following the journey the last few months) will be able to share with us what we have been waiting months to see come together. Be sure to check us out on San Antonio Wedding Guide’s site

DIY from the groom

When originally looking at place card holders I found wine corks which seemed perfect but for around $5 per person..I figured for that investment I would rather drink the bottle to get to the cork. As time grew near my goal of a cork for each guest was not reached but Bernice and Paul were up for the challenge…and now we have enough corks for a party of around 100…they are SOOO generous and team players!

Coy went to work on the project and the final product turned out better than I hoped for!

All corks were sliced so that there was a long slit for the place card

Bottoms were sanded to prevent rolling

Let Them Eat Cake

Last weekend we reached the 60 day mark and had our first shower in my hometown Arizona. Dawn, Ashley and Claire were the creators behind the perfect evening, bringing together what is most important to us; family, friends, food and drinks and leaving out all games (shower games that is)!! All of their hardwork was over the top as they thoughtfully planned a great menu (Dawn and Ashley it was just as good the next day), mixed up some tasty adult beverages (mixologist Dawn) and added the perfect decorative touches. which made us feel so loved. Their objective was simple…a SMALL wedding planned in wine country in October would need a BIG shower before hand so that I could celebrate with everyone that wouldn’t be joining us. Of course we need to mention the MOB and SMOB that cooked, cleaned and hosted right along side.

Friends for all periods of my life combined with my large family came together at the MOB’s house in North Scottsdale for an evening of visiting, drinking and eating. It was the perfect opportunity for loved ones in my life to get to meet the new love of my life in a relaxed and comfortable party.

The surprise for the evening were two perfect cakes from Tammie Coe in the shape of wine bottles containing our monogram and invitation images previously created for us by The Inviting Pear. Ginger/ SMOM/ SMOB brought her idea to Tammie and well…see the results for yourself…Ah-May-Zing

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We had so much fun and it was great to see everyone!! In true style of Bride Unveiled a video of the evening has been made.

All of our love

XOXO

The Perfect Fit

An exciting, busy and amazing weekend has left me finally feeling like a bride. Two of my bestest friends arrived in San Antonio a week ago and amused my shoezilla behavior as we went from store to store and renacted something out of Goldilocks and the Three Bears; too tall, too white, too ugly-when we were hoping for something more like Cinderella.

At the end of 3 long days I was barefoot and defeated…knowing that “there is no place like home” I jumped on a plane and headed to Arizona and started a love affair with another man…Jimmy Choo.

Now with less than two months left, we have shoes, grandma’s pearls and invitations in the mail and for the first time its really hit me…I’m getting married!

Sample Sonoma

Many of you have called me asking when do events start..well invitations will be going out soon thanks to the talents of Shannon with The Inviting Pear but until you receive those works of art in the mail, a welcome dinner will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00pm.

I know many of you will be arriving earlier in the afternoon so I encourage you to leave the bay and head north to Sonoma and take advantage of all that wine country has to offer.

Its a quick one hour drive from the San Francisco Airport and the wineries are…oh yeah everywhere…remember its WINE COUNTRY!! Sonoma County is a huge area but specifically you want to stay near Sonoma Valley and Glen Ellen as you could stay the whole afternoon and still not see everything. I don’t want to spoil your discoveries but a few that I think are worth checking out include:

Benziger
Gundlach Bundschu
St. Francis

For all you planners, you can get a complete list here

Find yourself hungry…many wineries do offer picnic spots if you wanted to enjoy lunch with a new bottle of wine. Or head to downtown Sonoma and my personal favorite is The Girl and the Fig

If you want to save your alcohol for the rest of the weekend, spa and golf are both prominent activities in Sonoma, or if you are feeling adventurous, head just 45 minutes past Sonoma Valley into Calistoga and take a dip in their hot springs.

More details for the weekend will be revealed over the next month but I do love all the texts, emails and calls letting me know your flights are booked!!! See everyone soon!!

XOXO

Love Letters: Deanna & Coy in their own words

Can you believe it? We are 86 days away from the “I do’s” that will bring Deanna and Coy together in committed, spectacular fashion.

So many details to consider, so many decisions to be made.

But, one detail that should never be overlooked is the LOVE part.

That’s the important ingredient.

Everything else will fall into place

(I’m on record here – the wedding is going to be fantastic!).

A few weeks ago, I asked Deanna and Coy to write

A glimpse into their hearts.

Something they could share with all of us.

Here are their love letters.

Here Come The Details

When we last left the adorable couple, they were making video introductions (Arizona, meet Disturbia. Everyone, meet Family) … ensuring no one is a stranger by the time we arrive in California for what’s sure to be a wonderful wedding celebration.

Ready for the Ride

But, before you know it, it’ll be Game Day.

And since the countdown is on for October 15, 2010 (you know, The Wedding Day), there’s no time like the present to bring everyone up-to-speed on how planning is going for
